• Irony is that this movie touched almost complete glob however struggled to release in India. Its released date has moved thrice and now finally releasing on 2nd August 2013.

• This movie is releasing in the week where lot of small budget movies are releasing. Same was a case with last week which would impact the box office fate of this movie and with so many releases the changes increase that this movie goes unnoticed at theaters.

My Gut Feel and comments:

This film is already critically applauded which supports the fact that it is a good film which virtually influences my judgment for this movie. Although we are evolving however still there is a distinction and a huge gap in our sensibility and international cinema audience. This movie has proved its metal on international ground however same was a case with Udaan, pan singh Tomar and many more which were ironically finding difficulties in getting the screen shares in India.

In last 3 to 4 years audiences has expected movie of this sensibility with open heart however still there is a long way to go. I use this platform to preview the movie on the bases of my gut feel for the movie however I would not rate this movie as it’s already released internationally and reviewed by known critics.

This is the first production of movie banner Moti Sagar Productions and Sita Films.

Akash Chopra and Tahira Kochchar doing debut through this movie.

Raj Babbar, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor are in the supporting roles.

My Gut Feel and comments:
I have evaluated the movie from all the aspects and to be very upfront I am not at all excited about this movie.  These days’ films have been showcased with alluring promos supported by aggressive promotions however most the time movie is low on content and entertainment quota which results in debacle at box office. Same seems to be a case with this movie.  I am a big fan of Arshad Warsi however I feel sorry for him as even after the success of Munna Bhai franchise, the Bollywood has not give his dues to Arshad Warsi. As I go by my gut feel , I am expected to be a below average movie and would give 2 stars out of 5 to this movie five days before the release.

Prateik Babbar and Rajeshwari Sachdev are looking good in the promos. Title song is very good and has been choreographed well. Prateik babbar has been impressive in the work he has done in the past. Rajeshwari Sachdev looking refreshing in the promos.  As I go by my gut feel I am expecting it to be a typical love story with no out of the box surprising moments. Still I am expecting some uplifting moments in the movie which take it to stature of an above average movie. I would give this movie 2.5 stars out of 5 stars, five days before the release.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director: Nikhil Advani started his career as an Assistant director, with Sudhir Mishra's Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin (1996), for which he also co-wrote the screenplay.Subsequently, he worked under Dharma Productions, the production house of the late Yash Johar, father of Karan Johar. He was an assistant director, and assisted Karan Johar in his first two directorial projects, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Advani also had an acting guest appearance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, along with Farah Khan during the Neelam Show sequence.

He went on to direct his first film under Dharma Productions, titled Kal Ho Naa Ho starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan and Jaya Bachchan. The film was one of the biggest hits of 2003 and firmly established him as a director. The film won six Filmfare awards, but lost out on the best director award.

Nikhil decided to make his next film without Dharma Productions. His script was ready but the film was delayed due to many of the actors dropping out the film. In October, he announced that the title of the film would be Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love. The film has a huge star cast: Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Sohail Khan, Vidya Balan, John Abraham, Akshaye Khanna, Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Anil Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Shannon Esra and Anjana Sukhani. The film was produced by Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja and Chetan Motiwalla and released on 25 January 2007 to mixed reviews.

His next film Chandni Chowk To China, starring Akshay Kumar was released on January 2009, but was a major disappointment. Even though Chandni Chowk To China has disappointed, Nikhil has announced that he will again work with the film's lead star Akshay Kumar. Patiala House is the title of this film, and it also stars actress Anushka Sharma as the female lead. Shooting began in December 2009,and it was released in 2011. The movie also opened commercially in New York

He has also directed India's first stereoscopic 3D animation film, Delhi Safari, which got released in October 2012.

Facts And Figures:

• D-Day was filmed in Ahmedabad's (Gujarat) most famous bungalow scheme named Sentossa        Greenland, and many more areas in Ahmedabad City too.

• Plot of the movie is tempting, promos are eye catche and star cast is impressive.

My Gut Feel and comments:

Neither the production house nor the director has done the remarkable job in recent past which sometimes result in the magic as the fire in the belly most of the time leads to master piece However with story line is as such that margin of error is quite less. And with multi-starrers again there is a risk of missing out doing justification to each character.

Nikhil Advani apart from his directorial debut not able to deliver quality work which reach out to heart and soul of the audiences although he was blessed to have the stars in his films however stories and screenplays were not up to the mark.

As a films freak I would be more than happy if Nikhil would manage to surprise the audiences with good film. I am a great admirer of film makers who not gave up and came back extraordinarily.

As I go by my gut feel I am not expecting it to be a flawless entertainer however still keeping my figures crossed and expecting it to be a high on drama above average film with noticeable performances from Rishi Kapoor and Irfan Khan. If a patriotic film and especially under current scenario a film depicting cold war between India and Pakistan would have presented well has a great chance of becoming a hit. I would give this movie 3 out of 5 stars, four days before the release.

  •  Prabhu Deva had directed successful Bollywood hindi movies, wanted and Rowdy Rathore prior to this movie.
  • Tips Music Films is a renowned Bollywood Banner lead by Kumar S Taurani and Ramesh Taurani with this film Mr Kumar S Taurani i launching his son Girish Taurani
  • Shruti Hassan looking refreshing in the promos however same is not the case with Girish
  • Film promotions has been done quite extensively.
My Gut Feel and comments:

Facts and figures says that this film is backed by renowned producer and a successful director and should lead to a success as well however I am not convinced as I go by my gut feel.  After reviewing the whole packaging I am getting a feeler that a safe formula film has been made to give a perfect launch to Mr Taurani’s son however will fall flat.

Story lines seems to be a typical love story with glimps of Maine Pyar kiya and Pyar Kiya to darna kya. While Launching a family member most of the time in the past the film makers has not justice to the overall film and this movie seems to be no different.
When we look back and find that in 2013 Tips has seen a success of Race 2 and Prabhu Deva has seen the success as director in the form of Wanted and Rowdy Rathore however I somehow not at all optimistic about this movie.  I am expecting it to be a average movie with old wine in new bottle with nothing different to offer to current intellectual audience. I would give this movie 2.5 stars out of 5, four days before the release.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (Run Milkha Run)

Casts: Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor and Meesha Shafi

Banner: Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures
Director: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra
Producer: Rajeev Tandon and P S Bharathi
Writers: Prasoon Joshi
Music: Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy

Release Date: 12th July 2013

Story line: "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" (English: Run Milkha Run) is an upcoming Indian biographical, sports film on the former Indian athlete Milkha Singh. The film has been produced and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The script is written by Prasoon Joshi. The film stars Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor and Meesha Shafi. Milkha Singh sold the story for just one rupee. The remuneration from the film will be used for the benefit of needy athletes. The name of the film comes from the last words spoken by his father, which was to save his life during the riots of Partition of India. During the partition, Singh lost his family members. The story talks about his perseverance as an athlete and also as a courageous human spirit

Know more about the Captain of the Ship, the Director: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (born 7 July 1963) is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter. He is best known for writing and directing “Rang De Basanti” (2006), for which he won Best Director awards at the 2006 Film fare Awards and National Film Awards and received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. He is also the writer and director of the films “Aks” (2001) and Delhi-6 (2009).

Facts And Figures:
• Prasoon Joshi is the story, screen play, lyrics and dialogue writer of this movie.
• Milkha Singh took Rs 1 to allow this Biopic movie to be made.
• USP of the movie are: A story on living legend Milkha Singh, Farahan Akhtan putting heart and soul in bringing the character alive on screen and film is backed by creative minds like Rakish Omprakash Mehra and Prasson Joshi.
• Film promotions has been done quite extensively in last 2 months which would sure sort give a bumper opening to this movie.

My “Gut Feel” and preview:
Indian cinema has witnessed very few sports oriented quality films and this time it looks like one more movie would register its place in that limited edition. Going by the promos it looks like that lot of hard work along with ground level details have been followed as the mantra to make it stand out which ensures and promises towards it being a good movie.

I always value the credentials of the director and as we look back at the work done by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra it has been a roller coaster ride.

• “AKS” in 2001 was experimental and it was evident that audience of 2001 was not ready for that kind of cinema
• “Rang de Basanti” was a path breaker in its own by setting a new tone of expressing public grievance – “Candle light march” at India Gate
• “Delhi 6” had a good plot but was not able to touch audiences soul and lost the flavor of the eventual taste one had in the beginning. Climax was the stone that had drowned the movie.
With “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” (Run Milkha Run) it looks like that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has hit the right cord once again this time. It appears that he has woven Milkha Singh’s real life story beautifully in the reel world. This movie should appeal to both masses and classes. Although it is an endeavoring task for a movie to hold the front for over 2 hours with today’s intellectual audience, it looks like “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” would triumph this benchmark.
As I go by my “Gut Feel” I am expecting a well narrated story with some nail biting moments. It is not too boastful to say that this movie would join the league of very few remarkable sports oriented movies such as “Chak de India” and “Paan Singh Tomar”.
I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars, five days before the release.

  • No big release is round the corner which means if movie has the potential, ground is open to do good business.
  • Balaji Production house known for explicit film promotions which they did for this movie as well and it manage to create the buzz.

My Gut Feel and comments:

Consistency and persistence works to succeed and the director of the movie Vikramaditya Motwane has shown this in his filmography. His name is associated with quality work in the past which increase the anticipations of hitting the target yet another time. Box office success has never been a criteria for me as I have witnessed in the past with conventional directors when ever they made hit movies they fumbled badly in next ventures as they put lot of brain and less heart while making the movie. After rang de basanti Om prakash mehtra made Delhi 6, after gadar anil Sharma made The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and  ab tumhare hawale vatan sathio.

Although the new lot of filmmakers are far more grounded and knows the importance of consistent hard work and they know that sine goer is intelligent enough to sense the good and a bad movie.

I am keeping my fingers crossed and want this movie to live up to the expectations and turned out to be a sensible entertainer with hard hitting love story with no conventional gisaa pitaa plot and typical performances.  As I go by my gut feel I would give this movie 3.5 starts out of 5 , two days before the release.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director : K. S. Ravikumar is a veteran actor director from south film industry who has directed 18 films in tamil and telegu.

Facts And Figures:

  • Policegiri is the first film hitting the theaters with sanjay dutt in lead role after he convicted in jail recently.
  • The creative teams belongs to south which has given this movie a look and feel which generally bollywood sine goer do not enjoy specially the classics, with masses on emotional ground  sentiments are there for this movie as their star is behind the bars and they would like to tribute him by watching it in theaters in good numbers.

My Gut Feel and comments:
This film neither seems to have the style of dabang and hard hiting dialogs of Singham although it is trying to register it self in same league. I am expecting it to be a typical formula film of 90s which work on typical story line of hero beating the valance left right and center throughout the movie. Action seems to be of typical south indian movie. I am expecting it to be a below average movie with rare sparkling nail bitting moments. Still Prakash raj and sanjay dutt are sincere actors and would not let down us completely,  As I go by my gut feel I would give this movie 2 starts out of 5 , two days before the release.
