Besharam was promoted extensively on TV shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil,Kaun Banega Crorepati,Jhalak Dikhla Ja,etc. Ranbir and Pallavi also promoted the film in New York with Diwali Bash at Times Square and in London and Dubai.

The handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan will be doing a cameo in the film.

My Gut Feel and comments:

Besharam is claiming to be a light hearted comedy entertainer and I am sensing that it would live upto the expectation. Abhinav Kashyap is associated with commercial projects which are high on content as per as entertainment quota is concern.
Ranbir Kapoor is an prominent performer who can carry off even a mediocre script well with his exuberant enactment. Audience does look forward to movies like besharam these days.

The reason of my optimism is the overall presentation and Abhinav Kashyap’s association with this movie. Star value is never a criteria of my judgment as I rejected “Once upon a time in Mumbai again” and “Satyagraha” before the release in my previews as I was sensing a week story, screenplay and narration.

Recent release “Phata poster nikla hero “ backed by ace director Raj Kumar Santoshi was also claiming to be an entertainer however I sensed it as a below average movie and it eventually turned out to be the same.

I am intuiting,  besharam would turned out to be an watchable entertainer and expecting a box office hit. I would give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars, two days before the release.

My Gut Feel and comments:

Plot of this movie is fresh and story seems to be engaging. Promos are depicting an honest effort by the creative team. It appears to be a realistic film maintaining entertainment spark.

Star cast is impressive and film should connect with the audience from the very first frame. Now with Dharma production and Utv motion pictures associating with this film, it would increase the scale of the film and would allow it reach out to a larger audience.

With a fresh plot and promising performances I am bound to give these movie 3.5 stars out of 5 stars, five days before the release.

Phata Poster Nikla Hero

Casts: Shahid Kapoor, Ileana D'cruz, Padmini Kolhapure

Banner: Tips Music Films

Director: Rajkumar Santoshi

Producer: Ramesh S Taurani

Writers: Rajkumar Santoshi

Music: Pritam Chakraborty

Release Date: 20th September 2013

Story line: “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero” (PPNH) is the story of Vishwas Rao an aspiring actor who gets mistaken for a cop.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:  Raj Kumar Santoshi started his career as an assistant director and worked with Govind Nihalani during the filming of Ardh Satya (1982). He has given colossal hit films at the box office and is known to be one of the most successful directors in Bollywood. His notable films as director include Ghatak: Lethal, Pukar and The Legend of Bhagat Singh. He won the Filmfare Best Director Award for Ghayal (1990) and Damini (1993), both starring Sunny Deol.

Santoshi is known to be one of the most versatile directors as he has directed films of all genres except sci-fi. His film Pukar focused on Indian army and court martial thereafter to its protagonist played by Anil Kapoor. Damini portrayed the justice and law of India. Andaz Apna Apna was a comedy which emerged as a cult in Hindi film history. Barsaat was a romantic action drama, which marked the debut of actor Bobby Deol. Lajja (2001) was a woman oriented film about four Indian women belonging to different strata of society. The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002) saw Ajay Devgan as a freedom fighter. The film won a National Film Award and Filmfare Award. Khakee (2004) was another success for Santoshi. His films Family (2006) and Halla Bol (2008) did not do well at the box office. In 2009, his film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif emerged as one of the biggest hits of that year.

My Gut Feel and comments:
Raj Kumar Santoshi has persistently delivered good movies in the past. They were filled with intense performances along with commercial wrapping.
However the irony is that when he attempted a cult comedy like Andaz apna apna (1994), it had fallen flat at box office. On the other hand his average comedy movie in 2009 Ajab Prem ki gajab kahani turned out to be one of a super hits.

Somehow with "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero", there seems to be little hope. Going by the promos, any Bollywood buff would be excited to watch this movie, as it appears swinging on the light hearted comedy line. As it seems today’s audience loves light hearted comedy films, however for me it appears too loud in nature and week in substance.

Though, I would like to be proved wrong in my view but chances are less. For me this is an average movie, scoring 2.5 stars out of 5 stars, five days before the release.

Grand Masti

Director: Indra Kumar

Producer: Ashok Thakeria, Indra Kumar
Writers: Milap Zaveri, Tushar Hiranandani

Music: Anand Raj Anand, Sanjeev, Darshan
Release Date: 13 th September 2013

Story line: “Grand Masti” movie is a sequel to the 2004 hit, “Masti”, which promises to be bigger, funnier and dhamakedaar. Three married guys Vivek Oberoi as Meet, Aftab Shivdasani as Prem and Riteish Deshmukh as Amar go out on fun experience in their college reunion in Shree Lalchand University of Technology and Science, finally to be trapped in a danger.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director: Indra Kumar is an Indian film director and producer. He has also appeared in number of Gujarati films playing the comedian or second lead to the protagonist. Indra Kumar is a very well-known director in the Hindi film industry. He also has produced many films and has appeared in many Gujarati films as a supporting character or as a comedian. Famous character actress Aruna Irani and Adi Irani are his siblings. Indra Kumar was born in a Parsi family. His daughter Shweta Kumar also debuted in the film industry with the film 'Karzzzz ' in 2008 along with Himesh Reshammiya.
Indra Kumar is best known for Dil, Beta, Ishq, Masti and Dhamaal.

 My Gut Feel and comments:

Length of this movie is 2 hours 17 minutes and budget is approx. Rs 20 crore. “Masti” which was released in 2004 was an average movie with some really funny moments. There is a thin line between a reasonable adult comedy and being cheap and vulgar.
Problem with Bollywood adult comedies is that most of the time Bollywood adult comedies fall in the category of vulgarity. Indra Kumar with his initial offering “Masti” was on the side of adult comedy however it seems that with “Grand Masti” he has crossed the line and has fallen into the bucket of vulgarity.

Promos are provoking and deliberately pushing the viewers to come and watch something extravagant. Budget of this movie is moderate which increases the chances of movie recovering the invested money.

I would give this movie 2.5 out of 5 stars, five days before the release.
