Facts And Figures:

  • The film's proposed name was Jai Ram Ji Ki but on the suggestion of Saif Ali Khan it was named Bullett Raja to gave it a more gangster feel.
  • All male characters have grown a moustache to fit the role in the film
  • Earlier, actor Irrfan Khan was revealed to be a part of the film but he walked out because of hectic schedule and date clashes for his other projects. Later,he was replaced by martial artist turned actor Vidyut Jamwal.

My Gut Feel and comments:
Revenge and hatred are the purest form or emotions and very few films by few directors able to display the same in hindi film cinema effectively.  In his initial films like satya, sarkar and company ramgopaI verma captured this emotion beautifully.
Tigmanshu Dhulia also managed to present this human emotion quite well in his most of the films.
Tigmanshu’s hasil and Paan singh Tomar are my all-time favorites.

Coming back to bullet raja, it loud and boisterous.  Saif ali khan is looking great in promos.  I have high expectations from this movie and as I go by my gut feel I am sure that Tigmanshu Dhulia must have done full justice to the screenplay and narration would be progressive. Other star cast is also seems to be apt and over all presentation seems to be impressive.
I would give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars, five days before the release.

Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Producer: Punit Malhotra

Writers: Arshad Syed and Punit Malhotra

Music: Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani

Release Date: 22nd Nov 2013

Story line: Sriram Venkat (Imran Khan) is the most small-minded guy on earth who doesn't value relationships, family, friends, life or the country. Well not essentially in that order, because he even doesn't care about the order. This makes him the clear 'black' sheep of the family.
At some point this shallow man begins to narrate the story of the crazy relationship he shared with His ex girlfriend Dia Sharma (Kareena Kapoor), who is a hothead social activist and wanted to change the world. An attraction which was physical at first, but after that got emotional and lastly veered into complex territories, that resulted in a conflict of ideologies and mindsets which drove them apart, literally in a bitter manner. Sriram believed that charity begins and ends at home, whereas Dia felt that you have to be the change that you want to bring about, either in home or in society.
However, Sriram realizes that he is not over with Dia and still loves her deeply, and that she is the best change that ever happened, and will happen to his life. But Dia has moved on and is now in a murky village in Gujarat called as Jhumli.
Sriram somehow lands up in Jhumli to take his love back, but Dia refuses to go back with him. Annoyed and faced with the final challenge, Sriram realizes the only way he can impress upon Dia to come back with him, is by making Jhumli independent. By helping others in life, something he is just not used to do, this is now the biggest quirk of fate in his life.
What he doesn't bargain for are the several road blocks he might encounter with, in the face of politics, corruption and clueless villagers. But the biggest obstacle he faces eventually is himself - His own moral stuff which isn't up to the challenge he has undertaken.
Will Sriram be able to win back his love? Will he be able to bring about the change in Jhumli, as well as in himself? This is the story of a boy to win over his love and his struggle to cross a bridge, a bridge that bridges the love and gap between two people.
Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:  Punit Malhotra (born 13 May 1982) is an Indian film director who works in Hindi cinema. His first film, I Hate Luv Storys, released on 2 July 2010. He is the nephew of famous Indian designer, Manish Malhotra. Malhotra worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Nikhil Advani's Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Amol Palekar's Paheli (2005) and Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana (2008). Finally he made his debut as an director, with I Hate Luv Storys (2010), which he also wrote.

Facts And Figures:

  • The movie was announced in 2011,however was delayed due to casting issues. The movie was initially to star Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan. Khan backed out of the project as he was unhappy with the script, and the movie was subsequently offered to Shahid Kapoor.Shahid Kapoor also had scripting issues, and Sonam Kapoor left the project as she didn't want the public to think she was cast due to her relationship with the director.
  • Later Shraddha Kapoor joined the cast in a supporting role.Earlier, actress Nargis Fakhri had been signed on for an item number in the film, however, due to shooting conflicts, Esha Gupta was then cast as a replacement.
  • Imran's wife, Avantika, also featured in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein in a half-second flash.Avantika has featured in as many as three films of Imran, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, I Hate Luv Storys and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and the actor confessed she brought good luck for the films.
My Gut Feel and comments:
As I go by the promos it looks like a typical dharma production trade mark movie which is conventional in nature, a typical urban set up with ideally no surprises on screenplay and narration. Both Imran and Kareena looking very much typical and reminding their characters in ek mai aur ek tu.
I am not against this style of movies however this is an era of experimentation and with new generation of directors expectations are high. This is second film of Punit Malhotra as director and it looks like that punit sticked to the formula film where boy is chasing girl in second half of the movie and earn her love at the end.  Film would offer some light funny moments however would stay conventional throughout. I would give this movie 2.5 out of 5 stars, one day before the release.

Facts And Figures:

Movie budget is Rs 35 Crore.
Initially shot in Gujarat some sequences of Ram-Leela were shot in Udaipur particularly at Udaipur palace and Gangaur Ghat where a song sequence was made. The story of the film is set in Gujarat. In Udaipur, Singh shot a song sequence in freezing cold water for about 45 minutes. Padukone was injured on set, however had to continue shooting as an expensive set was put up at Film City for a song
• It was confirmed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Director of the movie had set up a gym on the sets in Filmcity Mumbai for the lead actor Ranveer Singh to not be late for the shooting and to avoid any delays could cause for the movie.

• Attempts by Kareena Kapoor to work with Bhansali had failed, after she was initially signed on for Ram-Leela. However, she was later ousted from the movie by Bhansali.Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra was cast as a replacement, however she was also replaced due to unknown reasons.Deepika Padukone was finally signed on for the film in August 2012

My Gut Feel and comments:
Story of Ramleela is conventionally based on Shakespeare's classic drama 'Romeo And Juliet'. This means scope of experiment with story line is not there and everything is left on how good is treatment, screenplay and overall presentation. Ishaqzade did managed to bring out this conventional story entertainingly however off late Issaq staring Prateek babbar failed to do so.
Both were based on 'Romeo And Juliet'.

With Ramleela it looks like that Sanjay Leela Bhansali did manage to pull out a high drama decent entertainer. Canvas of this movie being a Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film is colorful, vibrant and larger than life which is eye catching and indeed Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are looking great on screen.  I always maintain a stand that’s it’s difficult to maintain high tempo throughout the two and a half hour and as I go by my gut feel I am sure repetitive moments would come however overall this movie would be one time watch. I would give this movie 3 out of 5 stars, five days before the release.
