Story Line: This
movie possesses three types of diverse ingredients. It is a thriller and at the
same time, it is romantic with ample amount of horror elements. It is a sequel
to earlier blockbuster of 2011, which was a spooky one, 'Ragini MMS'. The 3D
format of this movie adds a special flavor to the horror.
The film starts off from where its prequel
Ragini MMS ended which revolved around a young couple Ragini and BABLU who went
to an isolated house for a dirty weekend and the creepy and paranormal
happenings that took place to them there. BABLU had planned to make an MMS
scandal of Ragini in that house. But the MMS shot goes viral, BABLU goes
missing and Ragini after that incident became lunatic and ended up in a mental
hospital. The Ragini MMS scandal catches the attention of a filmmaker who plans
to make a film on it. He casts a Bollywood actress in his film to play the
lead, Ragini. The film crew goes to shoot the film in the same house where the
MMS scandal took place leading to further horrible and creepy happenings.
My Gut Feel and comments:
These days film banners are trying their best
to in cash their old film’s success. Ragini MMS seems to be no
difference. Ragini mm2 was an honest effort and was well made horror
movie wiith in its limitations. With ragini mms 2 it looks like ekta
kapoor increased the scale of production and spend lot in presentation,
promotion and marketing however history says most of the time these sequels
lacks substance. This seems to be the same case with Ragini mms 2 where
I am getting the sense that it is week substance and would not able to create
the magic ragini mms did.
Preparing a sequel itself seems to be
defensive move where production houses go extravagant however most of the time
fall flat.
I am giving this movie 2.5 star out of 5
stars, four day before the release.
