The movie is all about a ladKi (girl) Kareena and a ladKa (boy) Arjun, together become "Ki and Ka". It is a love story between two people with different ideologies taking the audiences through their interesting journey. Arjun plays a laid-back house husband and his wife Kareena is a talented and successful working lady in the film. Kareena's husband becomes the talk of the town for being the man of the house with a brand new take.

The film stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles. For her role, Kareena is all set to have a completely different look from the one she sports these days. This is the first time Arjun and Kareena will be seen together sharing the silver screen. The look created for the characters, Kareena seems to be the new sense corporate shrew, dressed in sharp suits, while Arjun is looking true to his character of a cool dude, easy-going chap. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan will also be seen doing a cameo in this flick.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

R. Balakrishnan, popularly known as R. Balki (born in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu),is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter and Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of the advertising agency Lowe Lintas (India).

Balki's ideas have included "Daag Achche Hain" for 'Surf Excel', "Jaago re" ads for 'Tata Tea' and the "walk when you talk" Idea Cellular advertising campaign. He has written and directed Cheeni Kum (2007), which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu. His second feature film was the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Paa, (produced by Sunil Manchanda), released on 4 December 2009, starring Amitabh, his son Abhishek Bachchan, and Vidya Balan. Shamitabh is his third Bollywood venture starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kollywood actor Dhanush and Akshara Haasan, making her debut in the film. The film released on February 6, 2015.

My Gut Feel and comments:

Ki & Ka is an unconventional story, which could go dramatically wrong if not handled sensibly and sensitively and with R. Balki as director around I am sure it will sail safely.
Both Cheeni Kum and Paa were tricky subjects however Balki did full justice to the subjects and presented in an engaging manner which was appreciated by the audience. Shamitabh went off track because of depressing ending as per Balki however for me as an audience still it’s a one time watch.
Both Kareena and Arjun looking fabulous in respective role with apt supporting star cast. I am sure it would be an entertaining movie with a sensibly handled screenplay. A lot will depend on the second half and the note on which Balki will conclude the film. Going by the promo it’s clear that film will start on a lighter note and it would be important to stay on track and kept the audience engaged till the end.
Going by my gut feeling I am giving Ki & Ka 3 stars out of 5, two days before the release.

Story Line :

Rocky Handsome is an adaptation of the 2010 Korean film The Man from Nowhere. The films story revolves around a man who sets out to take vengeance against drug mafia after they take away an eight-year old girl, with whom he shares a special bond. The highlight of film is the action. The makers are getting action directors from abroad-Eastern Asia-for the stunts.

John Abraham will be seen playing the role of Rocky in the film. Shruti Haasan as Rukshida has been cast as John Abraham's wife, while a seven-year old child actress named Diya Chalwad plays an important character. Nathalia Kaur as Anna plays the mother of the child.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

Nishikanth Kamath is an Indian filmmaker. His debut film, Dombivali Fast earned him accolades in Marathi Cinema, as it went on to become the biggest Marathi film of the year. He remade his film, in Tamil with R. Madhavan in the lead as Evano Oruvan, which opened to rave reviews.
He has also acted in Marathi film Saatchya aat gharat. His Bollywood debut project is based upon the 2006 Mumbai Bombings, titled, Mumbai Meri Jaan, which is filmed in Hindi. In 2011 he directed John Abraham starrer Force  which was a remake of Tamil movie 'Kaakha Kaakha'   His last directorial venture drishyam done well staring Ajay Devgn and Tabu.

My Gut Feel and comments:

Nishikant Kamat directed John starred Force, a movie with a fast-paced screenplay and awesome action sequences. Same seems to be the case with Rocky Handsome.
This movie is adapted from successful Korean film The Man from Nowhere. I read the story of The Man from Nowhere and it's quite engaging. It seems to be the case that Nishikant done a decent job in adapting the plot to the sensibility of the Indian audience.
Look and feel this movie reminds me Ek Ajnabee of Amitabh Bachchan and Zinda of John.
I checked few interviews of Nishikant Kamat and found him a strong headed creative person who is confident and talented. He has done decent work in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. His last offering Drishyam done well last year. Infect he is playing a villain in  Rocky Handsome and I am sure would be appreciated as he did act before well in films and theater.

Sunir Khetrapal is a first time producer who enthusiastically co-produced this movie with John Abraham. Apart from engaging screenplay, action sequences would stand out in this movie.
Film’s budget is just over 60 crore and like drishyam chances are that this movie picks up at the box office by word of mouth publicity. However as it’s not a typical mega star family entertainer so it would have limited targeted youth audience.
Kapoor & sons released last week and as it is indeed a good movie so surely will give tough competition to Rocky Handsome. Although as it’s an extended weekend because of Holi and good Friday so chances are that Nishikant’s and John’s fan do go to theaters in decent numbers.
Going by my gut feeling I am giving Rocky Handsome 3 stars out of 5, two days before the release.

Rahul and Arjun Kapoor, two estranged brothers are forced to return to their childhood home when their 90-year-old Grandpa wants to see them, then gets a heart attack. While living under one roof, family secrets unravel and misunderstandings are on the verge of turning into a tragedy. Rahul and Arjun both fall in love with the same girl, which is where the problem starts. This problem adds a great disturbance between the two.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

Shakun Batra (born January 1, 1983) is an Indian director and filmmaker. He has worked with Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions. In early 2012 he directed his first Bollywood feature film, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu with leading stars backed by Dharma Productions. The movie was well received at the box office and by the critics. The movie Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu was lauded for its state-of-the-art direction and refreshing music. He worked as an assistant director in Don 2, Rock On!! And Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na

My Gut Feel and comments:

This is indeed a tough one to predict and quite tricky. Promo is smartly edited covering the possible weaknesses of a storyline and screenplay. I tried to find out more about the directed Shakun Batra and one thing is clear that he is a passionate filmmaker and done a decent job with his first offering as a director of “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu”.Film got the above average ratings from critics and has done decent business at box office however personally I didn’t like the movie much as somehow I felt that both Kareena and Imran occupied most of the screen space which made it sluggish and it was difficult to stay attentive as the screenplay was too flat to handle.
On the contrary, in the case of Kapoor & Sons do have 6 pivotal character and it looks like everyone gets their due screen space which does make it's an engaging plot.
As the film is prepared under Karan Johar’s banner,  it do hold the influence of him and showcases his style of cinema which is youth appealing, however, to be honest missing the element which reaches out to the heart of typical mass audience as whole set up is too urban for them to relate. This is primarily a case with the films which he produced and not directed off late like Shaandaar, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Hasee Toh Phasee and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein etc etc…
Now coming back to Kapoor & Sons storyline seems engaging and star cast is quite impressive and refreshing. I am keeping my figures  cross and hoping that other then few flaws and drop outs here and there no major goof-ups made and film would live up to the expectation. It would be an above average movie and at least, entertain the multiplex audience if not reach out to the mass audience. Decent success at box office seems possible as it is not getting major competition with a releasing as a standalone big banner movie.

Going by my gut feeling I am giving Kapoor & Sons 3 stars out of 5, one day before the release.

Jai Gangaajal

Directed by: Prakash Jha
Produced by: Prakash Jha
Screenplay by: Prakash Jha
Story by: Prakash Jha
Starring: Priyanka Chopra, Prakash Jha and Manav Kaul
Music by: Salim-Sulaiman
Cinematography: Sachin Krishn
Edited by: Santosh Mandal
Production company: Prakash Jha Productions
Release dates: 4 March 2016
Budget: 10 crore

Jai Gangaajal is about a female cop, who takes on some powerful and influential men in her district. It is about today's dictum of society-police relationship. 'Gangaajal' was more from the heart. This one has all the bizarre things happening around us in reality. The film is not made on a big scale and also has very less characters. It is a concentrated story. In the second installment, Priyanka Chopra will fill her Blackmail co-star's shoes, as she takes on more corruption in the hinterlands.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

Prakash Jha (born 27 February 1952) is an Indian film producer, director and screenwriter who is mostly known for his political and socio-political films such as Damul (1984), Mrityudand (1997), Gangaajal (2003), Apaharan (2005), multistarrer hit movie Raajneeti (2010), Aarakshan (2011) Chakravyuh (2012), and Satyagraha (2013). He is also the maker of National Film Award winning documentaries like, Faces After The Storm (1984) and Sonal (2002).

He now runs a production company, Prakash Jha Productions. Prakash Jha, owns the P&M Mall in Patna.
Prakash was at one time married to actress Deepti Naval with whom he has an adopted daughter Disha

Prakash Jha contested and lost the election to the Lok Sabha from his native Champaran in 2004. He again lost an election to the Lok Sabha in 2009 as Lok Janashakti Party candidate from West Champaran. He again contested 2014 Elections as a JD(U) Candidate from Bettiah and lost being second on the list.
For the last five years, Prakash Jha has been seriously involved with development initiatives in Bihar. He has been spearheading growth in infrastructure, health care and vocational training facilities in the state through the NGO Anubhooti.

My Gut Feel and comments:

“There are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before.” Willa Cather
Above quotes seem true in the case of Jai Gangaajal where storyline is typical and shot in typical Prakash Jha’s style. Priyanka as female protagonist looking impressive and reminds Rani Mukherjee of Mardaani.
Film’s length is 2 hours 38 minutes which seems high for storyline like this where higher a chance that few weak moments here and there and non-required songs break the flow of narration which impacts the movie adversely
Prakash Jha was quite rusty in his last two directorial ventures Satyagraha and Aarakshan as they both lacked the hard hitting impact one can expect from his movies may be the case he got support from big banners and huge star cast and this pressure lead to under delivering which happened with other seasoned directors as well in the past.
This time, he seems to go by books where he himself has taken the full charge by directing as well as producing the way he did in the case of Apaharan and Gangaajal.  Going by today’s standard Jai GangaaJal’s budget is quite moderate i.e. Rs 10 crore which is surely recoverable at the box office.
The overall film seems to be a decent one with repeat storyline still holding entertainment value.

Going by my gut feeling I am giving Jai Gangaajal 3 stars out of 5, two day before the release.
