Story line:
The movie speaks about
a true incident happened on 31st October, 1984, when Indian Prime Minister
Indira Gandhi was assassinated. The film narrates a story of a Sikh family and
their fight for survival.
The film is a depiction
of one of the most important dates in Indian history, the day India lost its
Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
She was shot dead by
her own bodyguards, which changed the political scenario of the country to such
an extent that many innocent lives were lost and India witnessed a black
Wednesday. It is a story of human emotions, conflicts, survival and friendship.
31st October had its
official screening at the London Indian Film festival on 18 and 20 July 2015

My Gut Feel and
comments:
“There are
wounds that never show on the body with time, that are deeper and more hurtful
than anything that bleeds.”
“The worst
part of holding the sad memories is not the pain. It's the loneliness of it.
31st October is a story of a Sikh
family struggling to survive during the tough circumstances arise out of a
tragic event Indira Gandhi's Assassination. Going by the writer producer of
this film Harry Sachdeva during
their ground research around this topic they came across a diary in which a
couple documented their pain full journey of survival. This family is still
alive even know, it’s just don’t want to come in media for obvious reasons.
Shivaji Lotan Patil is a national award
winner who is a tenured Marathi film director and well known for his realistic
cinema. With him around I am sure film would live up to the expectation of audience
that would like to revisit the pain full historical event in sensitive and sensible
manner.
Going by Harry Sachdeva he found it tough to get clearance from
censor board however film did get clearance eventually after nine cuts.
Going by my gut feeling I am giving 31st October 3.5 stars out of 5, a five days before the
release.
