Story line: Kahaani 2 is from the franchise of 2012 film 'Kahaani' which revolved around the fight of a fake pregnant woman in search of her husband. The sequel is also being directed by Sujoy Ghosh and features Vidya Balan as lead this time too.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director: Ghosh made his directorial debut in 2003 with Jhankaar Beats which was a tribute to R. D. Burman. His next ventures Home Delivery and Aladin did not achieve box office success. His 2012 release Kahaani, featuring Vidya Balan in lead role, has gained both commercial success and critical acclaim. He started his acting career portraying the role of Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi in a film directed by Rituparno Ghosh in December 2012. Not many know that he has written the tagline "Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re" for the IPL Team Kolkata Knight Riders.

My Gut Feel and comments:

It's a great thriller or mystery, but on another level it's a film about the fact that, if you only look at a person through one lens, or only believe what you're told, you can often miss the truth that is staring you in the face: Kevin Spacey

Kahaani 2 is a different story all together with new characters and it’s not a sequel to Kahaani. Yes thinks are common which results in same look and feel. Kahaani was directed by Sujoy Ghosh with Vidhya Balan in lead role. Same team with common actors delivered Kahaani 2.
Kahaani was a hit at box office and was critically acclaimed at same time. A movie from same franchise increases the expectation of audience who is smart enough not to settle down for anything less then what they have already experienced in Kahaani 1.
Vidya balan proved her mettle in the past as well and can carry a film on her shoulder alone however in a thriller like this support cast is equally important.
Data says that second installment of any successful movie most of the time not able to recreate same magic however this time I believe it would be a close call.

Going by my gut feel I am giving Kahaani II,  3 stars out of 5, four days before the release.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

Shinde featured in the Financial Times 2012 list of '25 Indians To Watch'.She also featured on Rediff's list of 'Bollywood's 5 Best Directors of 2012.'Her husband R. Balki is the director of acclaimed films such as Cheeni Kum (2007) and Paa (2009).

My Gut Feel and comments:

We are supposed to enjoy the good stuff now, while we can, with the people we love. Life has a funny way of teaching us that lesson over and over again - Sheena Easton.

Above seems to be the case if we evaluate the story line of Dear Zindagi where Alia Bhatt seems to be in a mess and then met Shahrukh Khan who changes her perspective of living life right way.
The USP of this film is its director itself, Gauri Shinde who presents a story is a very simplistic way which audience do able to relate to in sweat way. Alia bhatt is looking superb , supporting cast seems appropriate and even Shahrukh has been projected  understated, away from his shadow of typical larger than life character is generally plays. I liked him in Swadesh and Chakde where he played quite realistic characters.

Chances of this movie going wrong are minimal so one can expect a good movie which would be appreciated by multiplex audience for sure.

I would give this movie 3.5 star out of 5 stars, two days before the release.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:  Abhinay Deo is an Indian commercial director turned film director. Abhinay's first movie was Game (2011). His second, Delhi Belly, was released on July 1, 2011. Before directing commercials, he graduated with a degree in architecture.[citation needed]
His parents are the actors Ramesh Deo and Seema Deo.  He is younger brother of Ajinkya Deo, who is also a well-known actor in Marathi films.

My Gut Feel and comments:
We all know the dangers of sequels. Lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place too often, and I think you've got to move beyond it, go the extra mile and have the courage not to just repeat the first one. Colin Firth
Force was the remake of Tamil movie Kaakha Kaakha and Force 2 will have an original script. Force was directed by Nishikanth Kamath however Force 2 is directed by Abhinay Deo. Both directors have different working style which will definitely differentiate the part 1 against its sequel in terms of presentation, look and feel.  This week released Rock on 2 not able to recreate the magic of Rock On 1. This anyways remains a common case with sequels as going beyond the original work is a daunting task and most of the time film makers disappoints.
Force was fresh, raw in presentation and storytelling however Force 2 seems polished and prepared on larger scale which is where most of the time sequels go wrong.
Although John is looking good, Abhinay Deo as director seems confident about his offering however still I believe something is missing.

Going by my gut feeling I am giving Force II 2.5 stars out of 5, five days before the release.

Rock on 2

Directed by: Shujaat Saudagar
Produced by: Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani
Written by: Abhishek Kapoor and Pubali Chaudhuri
Starring: Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai, Shashank Arora
Music by: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Cinematography: Marc Koninckx
Production company: Excel Entertainment

Release dates: 11 November 2016

Storyline: Musical centered on conflict in northeast India.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

Shujaat’s collision with the world of filmmaking took place more than a decade ago. Starting from scratch, working from the bottom up, under the mentorship of Prahlad Kakar (Genesis Film Productions), filmmaking imparted crucial experiences that helped shape Shujaat’s destiny. He had found his calling.

His consistent efforts played an integral part in the brand building exercise for Sony TV, especially SET MAX and this rewarding collaboration led to several Gold & Silver Promax Asia & L.A. awards (2003-2005).

Pushing his passion for filmmaking further, Shujaat made a successful foray into feature films with a 60-minute featurette, ‘BALI’, for Star One’s, Studio One Productions. ‘Bali’ was awarded ‘Best Film’ of the year at the Hero Honda Indian Television Academy Awards 2005. ‘Belle de jour’ a film directed by him for ‘A day in the life of India’ won the prestigious Spike Gold at the Spikes Asia 2011.

Shujaat ventured into the feature film world when he was approached to be the 2nd unit Director for the Bollywood Superhit “Don 2” (Directed by Farhan Akhtar and Produced by Excel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.). He was, later on approached by them once again, to direct 2 promotional music videos for their 2013 feature film, “Fukrey” which were produced by Boot Polissh Films.

It is his aim to create films that are a pinnacle of consistent quality.

My Gut Feel and comments:

It's always an enormous pressure when you do a sequel. The demands are so high. The only reason I would write a sequel is if I were struck by an idea that I felt to be equal to the original. Too many sequels diminish the original. Dean Koontz

Rock On!! It self was a complete story where a rock band group reunited after a gap of time. Now with Rock on 2, taking the story forward keeping the similar drama and emotions intact is a daunting task.

Last one was directed by Abhishek Kapoor and this one has been directed by Shujaat Saudagar who assisted Farhan on Don 2 as assistant director. Rock On!!  was quite fresh in its presentation and storytelling. Even keeping the same star cast in tact it difficult task to recreate that magic.

Going by my gut feeling I am giving Rock on II 3 stars out of 5, five days before the release.
